NO ONE CARED

Astronaut Ron Parise has died after a long battle with Cancer. Pairse spent more than 615 hours in space, having flown on two Space Shuttle missions. I did not hear this news on CBS, Fox, CNN or a host of other networks. I read about it in a Amateur Radio magazine.

Ron was a long time Amateur Radio Operator and spoke to many fellow "hams" during his flights in space.

It is both amazing and sad that the death of an astronaut goes completely unnoticed by our society. It reinforces the idea that no one cares anymore about space travel and scientific endeavours.

Purhaps that explains why we have taken a back seat to China, Japan, and many other countries in education and accomplishments.

Take a look here, http://www.thespaceplace.com/nasa/spinoffs.html and see some of the ideas and products we have gotten from our Space Program. And the next time you use these products, thank the space program, and those who gave the ultimate price for us.

best to you all
